On the nonclassical dynamics of cavity-assisted four-channel nonlinear coupler

Abstract: The non-classical properties of light propagating in four-channel Kerr waveguides, confined in an optical cavity, are studied. The solution to the Hamiltonian of field operators is obtained semi-analytically by using symmetrically ordered phase-space representation. Full quantum analysis of the input coherent fields displays a strong transition of photon property between the super-Poissonian and sub-Poissonian statistics. It is found that the cavity-assisted multichannel system exhibits enhanced squeezing both… Show more

“…Equations (A1)-(A36) represents the evolution of the spatial-dependent coefficients {𝐴 π‘˜ (𝑧)} 1 8 , {𝐡 π‘˜ (𝑧)} 1 4 , {𝑃 π‘˜ (𝑧)} 1 7 , {𝑄 π‘˜ (𝑧)} 1 10 , and {𝑅 π‘˜ (𝑧)} 1 7 . A numerical solution of these coupled equations is necessary to obtain these coefficients for the operator solutions ( 8)- (12). Here we have solved them using the 'ode45' feature in MATLAB software using the initial condition 𝐴 1 (0) = 𝐡 1 (0) = 𝑃 1 (0) = 𝑄 1 (0) = 𝑅 1 (0) = 1 and π‘₯ π‘š (0) = 0, while other initial conditions are set to zero.…”

“…Among these quantum systems, the nonlinear coupler has received a significant deal of interest due to its advantages as a simple-structured, experimentally realizable, and easily integrated system. Since the standard twowaveguide coupler has been proposed [8], several designs of nonlinear couplers have been suggested such as three-waveguide [9], four-waveguide nonlinear couplers [10], [11], cavity-assisted nonlinear couplers [12], [13], and nonlinear couplers with frequency mismatch [14]. Also, nonlinear couplers based on various nonlinear processes such as Kerr nonlinear effect [15]- [18], second harmonic generation [19], and four-wave mixing have been proposed [20].…”

“…Waveguiding structure has gained considerable attention in the development of nonlinear phenomena related to the generation of quantum effects 26 – 28 . We reported before the possibilities of generating enhanced nonclassical states via multichannel interactions exploiting nonlinear waveguides with the second- Ο‡ (2) 22 , 23 or third-order Ο‡ (3) 24 , 25 nonlinear effects. The basic concept behind this was to enhance the number of interacting modes by increasing the number of Ο‡ (2) or Ο‡ (3) waveguides, wherein each system was treated independently.…”
