On the Influence of Surface Roughness on the Magnetization Ripple in Ferromagnetic Thin Films

Abstract: A model is proposed in which the decisive influence on magnetization ripple is exerted by demagnetizing fields produced by surface charges due to the roughness of the surface of the thin film. The model predicts periodical fluctuations of the magnetization vector around the mean magnetization direction.
