On the Incorporation of Secure Filter in ICMetrics Group Communications

Abstract: Secure group communications present a unique environment where there can be multiple clients and hosts are trying to communicate securely within the group. As the number of clients and hosts increases the complexity of the communication security also increases. Group communications are based on a dynamic environment where the clients may join or leave the group at any moment. Hence it is important to ensure that only permitted entities have access to the group and those that have left the group or are not part… Show more

“…ICMetric is a new technique based on the concept of feature extraction for digital devices. However, it depends on devices' special features to generate a single ICMetric number because every device is singular in its internal environment [2,3] Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensors are utilized to generate ICMetric numbers. In other words, the bias readings extracted from these sensors will create this unique security number.…”

“…This technique is mainly used in complex, off-the shelf devices but this paper explores using this technique for rather simpler embedded systems to understand if these devices can be classified by the hardware information derived from it. ICMetric procedure is divided in two main sections [3]:…”
