On the Effect of Preparation Methods of PdCe-MOR Catalysts as NOx CH4-SCR System for Natural Gas Vehicles Application

Abstract: Abstract:In the present work, the effect of several parameters involved in the preparation of PdCe-HMOR catalysts active for NOx selective catalytic reduction with methane (NOx CH4-SCR) was studied. Results show that the catalytic performance of Pd-HMOR is better when palladium is introduced by ion-exchange, namely at room temperature. It was also shown that Pd loading does not influence the formation of cerium species, namely surface Ce 4+ (CeO2) species and CeO2 species in interaction with Pd. However, when … Show more

“…In previous works [8,9], the metal Pd and Ce loadings on HMOR catalyst were optimised based on the catalytic performance for NO x CH 4 -SCR. Pd(0.3)Ce(2)-HMOR revealed to be the best catalyst, with the highest NO x conversion N 2 and CH 4 selectivity to SCR reaction.…”

“…The contribution from Mendes et al systematically examines the role of Pd and Ce in Pd-MOR and PdCe-MOR zeolite catalysts for selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides by methane under excess of oxygen [11]. The CH 4 and NO x conversions and selectivities are measured for several different catalyst configurations, including the effects of Pd loading, impregnation method (incipient wetness or ion exchange at different temperatures), and the order of Pd and Ce component addition.…”

“…Les procédés catalytiques utilisent en majorité des catalyseurs supportés à base de métaux de transition, en particulier des métaux nobles [32][33][34][35][36]. Chaque année, des quantités énormes de catalyseurs sont préparées et des millions de tonnes de catalyseurs sont régénérés, pour un coût énergétique considérable.…”
