On the Darboux Integrability of Polynomial Differential Systems

Abstract: Abstract. This is a survey on recent results on the Darboux integrability of polynomial vector fields in R n or C n with n ≥ 2. We also provide an open question and some applications based on the existence of such first integrals. IntroductionIn many branches of applied mathematics, physics and, in general, in applied sciences appear nonlinear ordinary differential equations. If a differential equation or vector field defined on a real or complex manifold has a first integral, then its study can be reduced by … Show more

“…Darboux theory of integrability was started in 1878 by Darboux [7,8], who provided a method to construct first integral using Darboux polynomials. This theory has been greatly developed in different aspects, see for instance [2,5,6,10,11,13,22,28,25,26,27,39] and the references therein. The Darboux theory of integrability has also been broadly applied to study dynamics of differential systems, for instance the center problem, limit cycles and global dynamical analysis, see for example [5,9,17,18,31,35,36,37] and the references quoted there.…”

“…For a present state of this theory see the Chapter 8 of [3], the paper [5], and the references quoted in them. Moreover, we also study the analytic integrability of system (1), i.e., the existence of a global analytic first integral H : R 3 → R.…”
