On the Analysis of Mobility Mechanisms in Micro Mobile MPLS Access Networks

Abstract:
<span style="font-family: ";Arial";,";sans-serif";; font-size: 9pt;">One of the major challenges for the next generation mobile systems is related to efficient mobilitymanagement issue. In this paper, we propose a new micromobility management scheme, called Micro Mobile MPLS, that supports both mobility and quality-of-service (QoS) management in wireless networks. Our pr… Show more

“…In this case the results of the handoff are the same as using only the MIP. In Although the results are good as seen in [4], this is a solution that shows the functionality of Micro Mobile MPLS without utilizing a MIP, in other words, without changing the FEC for the CoA when roaming as described in [1][2] [3],replacing this situations for the establishment or lack there of in the links. A better option is integrating the MIP with the MPLS, but this implementation is focused towards macromobility as shown in [5].…”

“…To simulate Micro Mobile MPLS [1] [2] [3], its necessary extend the LDP agent of the MPLS nodes to be able to unpack the packets sent using MIP, obtain the CoA, and then use it as a FEC. This process is made possible by accessing the headers of MIP and MPLS through pointers.…”
