The article discusses the methodology of differentiation between the different strata of Romanisms in Slovene. Younger Romanisms in Slovene originate from one of the Young Romance idioms in contact with Slovene, i.e. Friulian, the Colonial Venetian dialects of Italian, and Standard Italian. Due to divergent phonetic developments a particular Romance lexeme shared by different Romance idioms can display an array of differing phonetic characteristics. These in turn provide the necessary criterion for the genetolinguistic differentiation of Younger Romanism in Slovene.

La recherche de base : les anciens romanismes en slovèneNotre article se base surtout sur les résultats d'une recherche préalable consacrée à l'étude des anciens emprunts d'origine romane en slovène (Šega 2006), dans laquelle nous avons cherché à dater le plus exactement possible les romanismes sur le territoire qui nous intéresse (à savoir sur celui des Alpes Orientales et de l'Adriatique Septentrional où la langue slovène est parlée actuellement) et à distinguer les romanismes appartenant à la période la plus ancienne des contacts linguistiques des emprunts plus récents. Dans cette perspective, nous avons pris en considération les anciens romanismes empruntés le plus probablement avant le XII e siècle. Cette délimitation est fondée sur plusieurs facteurs linguistiques et historiques.Du point de vue linguistique, cette période se caractérise encore par une certaine unité du slave alpin, 1 alors que depuis le XI e siècle on peut parler déjà de la formation de la langue slovène et, en même temps, de la phase initiale du processus de sa dialectalisation. Historiquement, il s'agit d'une période pendant laquelle de nouvelles formes économiques et sociales commencent à s'établir. Elle est marquée par l'instauration de l'ordre féodal et par l'adoption de la religion chrétienne, par la perte de l'indépendance politique et par l'établissement fixe des Slaves sur ces nouveaux territoires.La période mentionnée est d'une importance cruciale tant pour la sphère linguistique romane que pour la sphère slave : il s'agit, pour chacun des deux groupes linguistiques, d'une phase transitoire pendant laquelle les différentes langues romanes se développent et pendant laquelle on peut assister déjà aux premiers processus de différenciation qui mènent à la formation de langues slaves indépendantes.

In diesem Beitrag wird die Laut- und Akzentgeschichte einiger geographischer Namen untersucht, die das Slavische der Expansionszeit oder kurz danach von seinen Substrat- oder neuen Nachbarsprachen übernommen hat. Die ausgewählten Namen stammen aus dem Griechischen, Lateinischen bzw. Romanischen, „Alteuropäischen“, Thrakischen und anderen indogermanischen Substratsprachen wie auch aus dem Deutschen und anderen germanischen Sprachen, aus dem Finnischen und dem Iranischen. Im Einzelnen werden folgende Namen behandelt: *Silicānum > Solkan, *Silicētum > Sužid, *Caprētum > Kobarid, Σαλονίκη > Solun, Salōna > Solin, Serdica > Srědьcь, Timacus > Timok, Sancta Maria > Sutomore, Sancta Marīa > Sutomorje, Longaticum > Logatec, Aquilēia > Oglej, ūtinum > Videm, *Karantjā – Koroška, *Gīlā > Zilja, *Albanta > Labot, Albis > Labe, Regĭna > řezno, *wal˙xu > Vlah, Laukaa – Luga, ursl. *Al˙dagā˙ > Ladoga, Inkeri – Ižora, ursl. *Danu > Don, *Dunēstru oder *Dunajstru > Dnestr, *Dunēpru oder *Dunajpru > Dnepr.
