On Mitigation of Damages on Landslide Prone Regions of Uzbekistan

Abstract

Inability to guarantee the reliable protection to society lead to risk based approach in provision of protection of infrastructure and human beings. According to the Kyoto Protocol of the UN, one of the priorities for mitigating geological hazards is risk’s management, which includes the development of a set of measures that minimizes the possible damage resulting from the emergence of natural disasters. Successful and competent implementation of the whole range of measures to protect against landslide hazard is an important technical, economic and social aspect of the construction and operation of infrastructure facilities. There are informations about ongoing measures to protect the population, territory and infrastructure due hazards associated with landslides and their consequences is provided in this paper. The whole complex of measures aimed to the solution the engineering tasks of anti-landslide protection are turned into the recognition and assessment of threats, stabilization and retention of the landslide massif.
