“…TLC techniques particularly useful for lipids have been summarized (36,175,394,1420,1525,1710,1711,2196) and modified for application to plant (2215) and animal (394,435,1520) tissues and body fluids (371,1400). Special TLC methods have been developed for glycerides (102, 279, 545, 917, 919, 958,1080,1109,1150,1175,2083,2188), phospholipids (9,187,368,369,431,1145,1266,1549,1651,1686,1888,1895,2078,2198), sphingolipids (819,1052,1315,2298,2302), sulfolipid (392), prostaglandins (682), and malignolipin (1060). For their detection, exposure of Rhodaminetreated plates to iodine vapors (2189), bleaching of indicators with bromine (2273), and a combination of iodine and iodoplatinate (1592) have been recommended.…”
