On intonational typology

Abstract: Intonation is bound to several levels of language, both linguistic (phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, discourse) and extralinguistic (emotion, interest, certainty), and therefore interests researchers from a variety of backgrounds, but has nevertheless received little treatment in the typology literature.
