As Bruce Clarke suggests with regard to global warming, for the late Lovelock of Novacene , the role of Gaia has been reduced to that of an ‘air conditioning of the planet’ (Clarke, 2021; Datta, 2022). From that logic, Lovelock reasons that once machines are able to operate with warming, neither life nor Gaia would be necessary anymore.…”

“…Es de señalar que, en el momento en que escribe esta obra, el pensamiento de Lovelock ha abandonado ya la vinculación con la evolución de la vida que caracterizó la teoría de Gaia mientras trabajaba con Margulis (Lovelock & Margulis, 1974). Como sugiere Bruce Clarke a propósito del calentamiento global, para el Lovelock tardío de Novaceno el papel de Gaia ha quedado reducido al de ‘acondicionador de aire del planeta’ (Clarke, 2021; Datta, 2022). Desde esa lógica, Lovelock razona que una vez que las máquinas alcancen a operar con el calentamiento, ni la vida ni Gaia serían ya necesarias.…”
