“…FP1001-2). Boletopsis grisea is very similar to B. mediterraneensis, but the former differs by its context turning only faintly greenish in KOH in fresh specimens, and black brown upon drying (Niemelä & Saarenoksa 1989). Boletopsis leucomelaena is characterised by its greyish sepia to black-brown cap surface, turning sepia black in KOH, and by its association with Picea (Niemelä & Saarenoksa 1989). Boletopsis nothofagi has a cap turning blackish upon bruising, becoming black with KOH and is associated with Nothofagus in the Southern Hemisphere (Cooper & Leonard 2012).…”

“…The average number of resupinate decomposer species per site was 6.5. Many species in this group are considered to be common in old dry pine heaths (Eriksson & Ryvarden 1973, 1976, Eriksson et al 1978, Kotiranta & Niemela 1981, Hallenberg 1985, Hjortstam et al 1988, Niemela 1993, Renvall et al 1991 Finland but in favourable years it is locally common especially in the north (Niemela & Saarenoksa 1989).…”

“…Boletopsis nothofagi differs from described species in the more elongate spores with a narrow central waist, granular extra-cellular material becoming green in KOH and habitat in Nothofagus forests (Niemala and Saarenoska 1989;Harrison 1975;Watling and Milne 2006).…”
