On deusons or deuteronlike meson-meson bound states

Abstract: Abstract. The systematics of deuteronlike two-meson bound states, deusons, is discussed. Previous arguments that many of the present non-qq states are such states are elaborated including, in particular, the tensor potential. For pseudoscalar states the important observation is made that the centrifugal barrier from the P-wave can be overcome by the 1/r 2 and 1/r 3 terms of the tensor potential. In the heavy meson sector one-pion exchange alone is strong enough to form at least deuteron-like BB * and B * B * c… Show more

“…With the quark-pion interaction model, Törnqvist calculated the possible DD * and D * D * molecular states in Refs. [185,186]. Later, Dubynskiy and Voloshin also indicated the existence of a possible resonance around the DD * threshold [187,188].…”

“…The proximity of their masses to the thresholds inspired molecular explanations of these structures [196,215,216,202,217,218,219,220,221,222,223,224,225,203,226,200,227,228,229,230,231,232,233,234,235,236,237,238,239]. With the refinement of the meson exchange model, many subtle aspects of this framework were investigated, such as the S-D wave mixing effect [185,197], coupled-channel effect [240,241,242], and recoil correction [243,244].…”

“…The first, a molecular state, sometimes referred to as a deuson (38), is comprised of two charmed mesons bound together to form a molecule. These states are by nature loosely bound.…”

“…This close correspondence has led to considerable speculation that the X(3872) is a molecule-like bound state of a D 0 and aD * 0 meson (8,9,38,68,69,72). 14 The recent measurement of the D 0 mass implies a D * 0D0 binding energy of (0.6 ± 0.6) MeV/c 2 .…”

“…Diquark molecules, also called deusons, are a pair of loosely bound charmed mesons [26]. While predictions for states of this sort have existed for some time, it is only in light of recent evidence from the B Factory experiments(described in Section 2.5) that they have been closely re-evaluated.…”
