Abstract: 1. A new species, Cosmocerca kashmirensis n.sp. from the toad, Bufo viridis, in Kashmir, is described. The new species has 19 plectanes in the male tail, of which 3 plectanes are simple rosettes and resemble the compound caudal papillae of the genus Cosmocercoides.2. The existing species of the genus Cosmocerca Diesing, 1861 are listed and briefly described.

Cosmo~ercella anothecae n.sp. most closely resembles C. I~nhsri. These species differ in the number and arrangement of digitiform caudal papillae, shape of the gubernaculum. and size of spiczrles in males. Cosmocrrc~IIu Ituberi lacks the vesiculated 'bursa' mentioned in the original description and this character cannot be used to distinguish this genus. Cos~nocercelIo is characterized. however. by vesicularpd rosette male caudal papillae no1 present in other genera of Cosrnocercidae. RnilIi~tnena tninor Fmitas and Dobbin. 1%1 , from Phy1lomed:rsn (Hylidae) of South America is reclassified as Cnsrnoccrrc.IEo mirror (Freitas and Dobbin. 19611 n.camb. Raillietnema minor Freitas et Dobbin, 1961, parasite de Phyllomedusa (Hylidae) en Amerique du sud devient Cosmocercella minor (Freitas et Dobbin, 1961) n.comb. Cosmocerca microhylae sp. nov., recovered from the rectum of a red narrow-mouthed frog, Microhyla rubra (Jerdon, 1854) (Anura: Microhylidae), collected from Bolpur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, India, is described and figured. This species is similar to C. acanthurum, C. banyulensis, C. cruzi, C. japonica, C. kalesari, C. novaeguineae, C. ornata, C. paraguayensis, C. parva, C. podicipinus and C. travassosi in having 5 pairs of plectanes supporting preanal papillae but differs from these species by smaller size, absence of somatic papillae in females and having only one pair of adanal papillae in males and one pair postanal papillae in females. Cosmocerca microhylae sp. nov. represents 27th species assigned to the genus, and 4th species from India.
