“…As shown in this study, the association of pain intensity with perceived disability and control over one’s life in women with endometriosis seemed to be significantly stronger with increasing age. In contrast to other studies [ 65 , 66 ], the present study did not identify educational level as an independent predictor of pain-induced disability in women with endometriosis.…”

“…Pain-related factors were identified as predictors for perceived disability. A higher number of pain localizations (more than five localizations: OR 12.4, 95% CI 5.4–28.2, p < 0.001) resulted in higher work-related disability in Finnish women with chronic musculoskeletal pain [ 66 ], and in a lower quality of life in affected women in the US [ 84 ]. We confirmed these results using univariate analysis, as the study respondents showed significantly higher disability levels (equal to or higher than the median) with an increasing number of symptoms, but this effect disappeared when it was adjusted for other influential factors.…”

“…Potentially the O ¨MPSQ could be a foundation for this. 23 Musculoskeletal pain has a significant burden globally, 44 with reduced work productivity a significant portion of this burden for individuals and society. Screening at the population level to identify risk groups could enable early interventions to improve work productivity and reduce the burden of musculoskeletal pain.…”

“…Given there was some association for absenteeism (Table 2), the results of this study could provide a basis for development of a tool with greater fidelity in predicting absenteeism and presenteeism in the general population. Potentially the ÖMPSQ could be a foundation for this 23 …”
