OMIP‐012: Phenotypic and numeric determination of human leukocyte reconstitution in humanized mice

Abstract: PURPOSE AND APPROPRIATE SAMPLE TYPESThis panel was developed to determine both the frequency and absolute number of human leukocytes and leukocyte subsets present in the peripheral blood of humanized mice. The panel also provides information concerning the activation state of peripheral leukocytes by cell surface staining for HLA-DR and CD38, relevant to studies of HIV disease pathogenesis (1-3). This panel has been used with EDTA anticoagulated whole blood in conjunction with bead-based enumeration for quanti… Show more

“…Among the 70 published OMIPs, 66 (94.3%) are using flow cytometry (either conventional or full-spectrum flow cytometry), and 4 (5.7%) are using mass cytometry (CyTOF) [13][14][15][16]. Most panels focus on human cells (81.4%), including one panel used for humanized mouse [17]. Recently, the species covered by OMIPs have expanded to rat (OMIP-041), mouse (OMIP-031, 032, 048, 054, 057, 059, 061), nonhuman primates (OMIP-005, 016, 026, 028, 035, 052), and dog (OMIP-065) (Figure 3(A) and Table S1).…”
