“…However, TDE and lymphography are technically challenging and there are some concerns that they may cause anaphylaxis, lower‐extremity swelling, or chronic diarrhea. Topical use of tetracycline has been advocated to attempt before surgical reexploration and topical injection of PA‐MSHA preparation has been found effective in treating refractory chyle fistulas following neck dissection . Topical PA‐MSHA injection therapy in our study was successful to cease the leakage of chylous fluid, and completely cured the chyle fistula.…”

“…Topical PA‐MSHA injection therapy in our study was successful to cease the leakage of chylous fluid, and completely cured the chyle fistula. Similar to other sclerosing agents such as tetracycline, doxycycline, and OK‐432 (sapylin), the mechanism of PA‐MSHA to treat chyle fistula is thought that it initiates a strong local inflammatory response, which results in fibrotic adhesion between tissue surfaces and spontaneous fistula closure. Chyle drainage in all patients showed a marked decrease within 24 to 48 hours after the use of PA‐MSHA.…”

“…Our work provides a previously unrealized opportunity in the utilization of GAS in the potential treatment of cancer. Discerning the capacity for GAS to form biofilms within CAF‐ and Saos‐2‐derived ECM, and the role of Scl1 in this process, is important since GAS has been under pre‐clinical (Linnebacher et al , ; Maletzki et al , ) and clinical (Yamaguchi et al , ; Roh and Park, ; Nohara et al , ; Wang et al , ) evaluation as a cancer therapeutic.…”

“…In the event of a postoperative chyle leak, multiple treatment approaches to its management have been described, including nutritional, pharmacological and surgical therapies, but a clear consensus on the optimal management and the indications for surgical intervention is lacking [24][25][26]. In the context of salvage surgery, the option of direct re-exploration and ligation of lymphatic vessels is limited and unlikely to be effective.…”
