ÖZ: Bu araştırma, okul yöneticilerinin inisiyatif alma düzeyleri ile problem çözme becerileri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma betimleyici ilişkisel tarama desenindedir. Örneklem, Orta Karadeniz'de bir ilde bulunan 282 okulöncesi, ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise yöneticisinden oluşmaktadır. Veriler Okul Müdürlerinde Kişisel İnisiyatif Ölçme Aracı ve Problem Çözme Envanteri aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiler Pearson korelasyon katsayıları ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları aceleci ve kaçıngan problem çözme yaklaşımları ile inisiyatif almanın tüm alt boyutları arasında anlamlı negatif ilişki olduğunu gösterirken, bu ilişkilerin düşünen, kendine güvenli, değerlendirici ve planlı yaklaşımlarda anlamlı ve pozitif olduğu saptanmıştır. Çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi sonuçları okul yöneticilerinin inisiyatif almalarının göreli en önemli yordayıcısının kendine güvenli problem çözme yaklaşımı olduğunu göstermiştir. Sonuç olarak, araştırma okul yöneticilerinin etkili problem çözme becerilerinin desteklenmesinin inisiyatif alma düzeylerini arttıracağını ortaya koymaktadır.

Leadership continues to be one of the most discussed topics in the field of management and there are ongoing studies regarding its types and effectiveness in several kinds of organizations. Among others, educational institutions have gained considerable interest from researchers due to the significance of education in a society. In educational context, elementary education has a critical place in terms of guiding all academic education. From this point of view, this paper seeks to determine which types of leadership related to elementary schools have been commonly investigated in the last six years both in Turkey and at abroad, and which outcomes related to teachers have been associated with those leadership styles. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to offer an insight into the recent trend in educational management literature and provide a brief summary of recent studies in this regard, which may be useful for future researchers.

Article InfoBeginning with the 2015-2016 academic year in Turkey, school principals were given the responsibility of instructional supervisory authority. The purpose of this study is to reveal the level of instructional supervision exhibited by the school principals according to the perceptions of teachers and to examine these perceptions in terms of various variables. In this context, 1237 teachers working in primary, middle and high schools in Balıkesir and Bursa provinces were included in the study. In the study, a survey was used to reveal the current situation regarding instructional supervision exhibited by the school principals. The results of the study showed that the instructional supervision exhibited by the school principals occurred at a low frequency. Within the scope of the study, it is recommended that the current practice regarding the instructional supervision should be provided in a way that will recognize the teachers in the process of providing feedback to teaching and teachers and benefit from these teachers in this process.
