Subsection 20 (1) of the Charter gives the public the right to receive services from and to communicate with federal institutions in English or French, either when dealing with the head office or in other cases: when there is a significant demand for services or when, because of the nature of the office, it is reasonable to expect them. Federal institutions delivering health services must respect those language rights.…”

Édictée en 1997, la Loi sur les offices régionaux de la santé reconnaît au lieutenant-gouverneur en conseil le pouvoir de déterminer, par règlement, « les obligations des offices régionaux de la santé à l'égard de la prestation de services de santé en français et, notamment, établir la liste des offices régio-naux de la santé assujettis aux obligations en cause 7 ».…”
