Off-axis holographic optical element fabrication for practical near-eye displays: Uniformity improvement with optimized angular and wavelength selectivity
Abstract:Transparent thin-film holographic optical elements (HOE) are suitable for implementing extended screens and depth cues for small form factor devices like near-eye displays (NED). Here, optimized data for a practical NED fabrication is presented based on the analysis of the uniformity, angle selectivity, and wavelength selectivity of an HOE reconstructed image applied to an NED system.
