This paper will explain about the conflict of norms that arise because there are 2 (two) similar provisions (offenses) in different laws, related to 'laundering of proceeds of the forest destruction crime ' and 'laundering of proceeds of narcotics crime'. Furthermore, it is also discussed which principles must be applied to resolve the conflict of norms, and which provisions (offenses) must be applied in that case. This paper uses a normative research with a conceptual approach, statutory approach, and case approach. Through this paper it is also concluded that in case of a conflict of norms between special norms and other special norms, the most relevant principle to be applied is the juridische/systematische specialiteit principle, and in the context of the conflict of norms that occurred in case of 'laundering of proceeds of the forest destruction crime ' and 'laundering of proceeds of narcotics crime', the more relevant provision (offense) applied is the 'Money Laundering Offense' as regulated in the Money Laundering Law.

DeFi has attracted legitimate investors and scammers alike. The paper presents an empirical investigation into the prevalence of rugpulls, a scam where cryptocurrency project developers exit without fully delivering and leave investors in the wind. Using forum data, 101 rugpulls from 6 different types of DeFi services are documented. ICOs form the majority of the rugpulls, most of which were active for less than six months before scamming out. ICOs rugpulled in 2021 were active for a much longer time than those that were rugpulled later on, perhaps pointing to new entrants intending to pull the rug. Through qualitative thematic analysis, we discover that these schemes primarily use authoritative and financial lures at the announcement stage of the project to mimic legitimate projects.

Cryptocurrency is supercharging illicit activities by transnational criminal networks, including terrorism, drug trafficking, pornography, sanctions evasion, and ransomware. Yet, mainstream cryptocurrency literature often overlooks this criminal association. The relatively new and transboundary nature of cryptocurrency is restructuring criminal activities. Hacking has emerged as a digital-age bank heist, siphoning off substantial sums from exchange platforms. Crypto crime is dynamic, transitioning from primarily placing and layering the proceeds of precursor crimes into the financial system to a burgeoning trend of stealing virtual currency. While not every online financial crime involves cryptocurrency, the proliferation of crypto-enabled cybercrimes is exponential. Paradoxically, existing literature largely disregards how cryptocurrency-enabled offenses such as Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA), sanctions evasion, and ransomware.
