Abstract: Introduction Hyperparathyroidism is a risk factor of osteoporosis. Excess parathyroid hormone (PTH) accelerates bone loss via bone reabsorption and increases the risk of fragility fracture. Fragility fractures are associated with serious consequences in older patients.
