Ocular Ferning Test – Effect of Temperature and Humidity on Tear Ferning Patterns

Abstract: Background: The ocular ferning test is used as a diagnostic aid to evaluate patients with dry-eye disease. The ferning phenomenon is a dendritic growth form of dried tear fluid.
