Abstract:This chapter presents the counterhegemonic ideology to Isletism: “Oceanitude.” Coined in 2015 by ni-Vanuatu novelist Paul Tavo, Oceanitude is a literary, philosophical, and political current theorizing Pacific collective identity in times of nuclear imperialism and carbon imperialism.
