Abstract:Satellite ocean color and sea surface temperature (SST) observations from 2012 to 2021 and sea surface salinity (SSS) measurements from the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission from 2015 to 2021 are used to characterize and quantify the seasonal and interannual variability in the physical, optical, and biological sea surface features in the Costa Rica Thermal Dome (CRTD) region. High-resolution climatology and the seasonal variability in SST, SSS, and ocean color properties are produced. Chlorophyll-a (… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
