“…Examples of the same kind of change were demonstrated in the coverings of the epididymis and in the adjacent tunica by Hartz (1947) and Sundarasivarao (1954). Excellent demonstrations of the phenomenon are given in this second paper.…”

“…This type of epithelium may also form tumours in ovaries (Brenner's tumours). A comparable epithelium has also been found in femoral hernial sacs from males, at the epididymotesticular junction in 1 case (Sundarasivarao, 1953) and in subserosa of the epididymis (Hartz, 1947). In addition, 4 cases of an intrascrotal Brenner's tumour have been described, 1 of which was combined with an adenomatoid tumour (Walker and Mills, 1988).…”

“…6,9 It has also been described in the ovary, broad ligament, vulva, 2,4 fallopian tube mucosa, 10 and even the male genital tract. 11,12 In all of these sites, TCM morphologically resembles urothelium. The curious locations of TCM would suggest that female genital tract epithelium/mesothelium has an ability to differentiate along transitional (urothelial) cell lines.…”
