“…Before the present study, the presence of E. cognata had not been reported in the Platina Basin, where this species occurs in sympatry with other species of the analis group, such as E. analis, E. bidentata Dressler, 1982a (Moure 1967a, b, Michener 2000, Cameron 2004, in the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, increasing its known geographical distribution by approximately 2,400 kilometers southward in South America. Furthermore, the hypothesis is also reinforced by the recent results obtained by Anjos-Silva (2007), who collected Eulaema pseudocingulata Oliveira, 2006, another species previously also indicated as endemic to the Amazon Basin (Oliveira 2006), in the Platina Basin, where this species occurs in sympatry with E. cingulata (Fabricius 1804), a sibling species of similar morphology and color pattern but with a broader geographic distribution. These results amplified …”

“…Anjos -Silva 2006) and in central Bolivia (Santa Cruz and Rio Seco; Abrahamczyk et al 2012), which possibly indicates a preference for humid rather than dry habitats. However, with the addition of the new record for Bolivia (Abrahamczyk et al 2012) and new and old records presented here, it is possible that the species uses gallery forests from the Amazon to the Cerrado to reach the Atlantic forest domains (see Ab'Sáber 1971), as previously document for Eulaema cingulata (Fabricius, 1804) (Anjos- Silva 2006aSilva , 2006bSilva , 2007 and Euglossa cognata Moure, 1970(Anjos-Silva 2008. In this scenario, the male populations of E. imperialis possibly use the Pantanal wetland and the gallery forest as ecological corridors from the central Bolivian Amazon domain to reach the southeast and the Atlantic forest in Brazil (Rebêlo andGarófalo 1991, 1997;Rebêlo 2001;Ramirez et al 2010;Mateus et al 2015).…”

“…In this vast tropical savanna biome, even with the continuous deforestation process, few works have been made on the euglossine bee fauna (Rebêlo & Cabral 1997, Nemésio & Faria 2004, Carvalho et al 2006, Alvarenga et al 2007, Anjos-Silva 2007, 2010. So, the objectives of this work, was to study the species composition, abundance and the seasonal and hourly distribution of euglossine bees in a Gallery Forest in the Brazilian Cerrado.…”
