“…Many pharmaceutical pollutants are still detected in effluents of WWTPs [14]. New treatment methods like advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) should be adapted to the existing WWTPs that will reduce the presence of these pollutants in water.…”

“…The aim of this study was to evaluate the degradation of five target PPCPs (CBZ, DFC, IBU, PRC, and TRC), frequently detected in wastewater and receiving water bodies, using classical AOPs (Fenton, UV/H 2 O 2 , and UV/TiO 2 processes). [27][28][29] Additionally, another important aspect of this study was the examination of PPCPs concentrations at lower levels (μg L −1 ) commonly found in wastewater rather than the higher concentrations (mg L −1 ) typically studied in laboratory-scale experiments. In addition, the study aimed to reveal the degradation efficiency and reaction kinetics using AOPs, taking into account the properties of these compounds, and to evaluate the integration of the processes into treatment facilities in terms of cost.…”

“…The system employed a raptor C-18 analytical column (Raptor Biphenyl LC Column, Restek, 50 mm × 30 mm × 2.7 μm) with gradient elution at a flow rate of 0.4 mL min −1 and an injection volume of 20 μL. The MS/MS system TA B L E 1 Physicochemical properties of selected pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) [4,29,30].…”
