Aim The National Safety Council categorises the agrifood sector as the industry with the highest death rate per 100,000 workers in 2021. Ibadan, a major hub of livestock and micro-livestock production in Nigeria, has little or no documentation on farmers' perceptions of occupational health and safety. Methods A field survey was carried out among 151 livestock producers in Ibadan between July and September 2022, using open- and closed-ended questionnaires. A cross-tabulation was used to quantitatively compare the variables using Pearson’s Chi square to determine the level of significance. Results More than 78% of the male farmers agree and/or strongly agree that they could forego a few workplace safety precautions, while 66% strongly disagree that personal safety is important. Prior to this study, 76% and 23.5% of livestock farmers, male and female, respectively, claimed they had not heard about workplace health and safety. On a scale of 0.0 to 4.5, the average perception index score of respondents on occupational safety and health (OSH) revealed that 2.01 indicated that the OSH Act is not useful, 1.88 stated that the OSH Act is ineffective at reducing injuries and illnesses, and 1.72 opined that the OSH Act is not applicable to their job. Close to 100% of the farming population in Ibadan had access to media and smart devices, which could be explored in the dissemination of health and safety information to improve occupational safety and health awareness. Conclusion Smart technological channels should be harnessed to disseminate occupational health and safety information to workers in the agrifood sector.

Objetivo: Encontrar regras de associação entre a ocupação do trabalhador, o produto químico exposto e o câncer diagnosticado em 2019. Método: Foram aplicadas técnicas de Mineração de Dados, dentro do processo de Descoberta de Conhecimento em Bases de Dados. Para identificar padrões e correlações, foram utilizados arquivos sobre Câncer Relacionado ao Trabalho – disponíveis pelo Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação –, o software Weka e o algoritmo Apriori. Resultados: Apresentamos 2 regras com a métrica “Confiança” e 4 regras com a métrica “Convicção”, que indicaram fortes associações entre “Produtor agrícola polivalente”, “Radiação solar”, “Outras neoplasias malignas da pele e doenças relacionadas” e “Radiação não ionizante e Agrotóxico”. Conclusão: Os resultados podem incentivar organizações a elaborarem estratégias de prevenção contra o câncer ocupacional, de forma a manter e garantir a qualidade de vida e segurança dos trabalhadores, sobretudo dos trabalhadores pertencentes às ocupações com maior risco de exposição ao câncer.

Pertanian merupakan sektor yang penting dalam membangun ekonomi negara-negara di Kawasan Asia Tenggara. Kecelakaan kerja dan Penyakit Akibat Kerja (PAK) merupakan permasalahan tak terkecuali pada sektor pertanian. Pekerja pada sektor pertanian memiliki risiko mengalami kecelakaan kerja dan Penyakit Akibat Kerja (PAK) karena dalam melakukan pekerjaannya tidak terlepas dari paparan bahan kimia atau sinar matahari, bekerja dengan mesin, melakukan pekerjaan berulang dan mengangkat beban berat.. Peraturan perundangan terkait Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja pada sektor pertanian merupakan salah satu instrumen penting dalam pencegahan masalah kecelakaan kerja dan Penyakit Akibat Kerja (PAK). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan komparasi aspek medikolegal kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja pada sektor pertanian di kawasan asia tenggara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan pustaka menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan peraturan perundang-undangan. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa Undang – Undang tentang Keselamatan Kerja di Indonesia merupakan yang paling tua, karena belum pernah mengalami perubahan sejak disahkan pada tahuin 1970. Pekerja pada sektor pertanian yang sebagian besar merupakan tenaga kerja informal, perlu mendapat perhatian dengan dibuatnya regulasi yang mengatur Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja di bidang pertanian untuk semakin meminimalkan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja dan penyakit akibat kerja karena regulasi terkait hal tersebut di Indonesia saat ini masih sangat minimal.
