Occupational allergic contact dermatitis, rhinoconjunctivitis, and asthma caused by moabi wood dust

workers with occupational exposure to materials and substances that contain colophonium, sensitization to colophonium from resin cream use in private life may affect their ability to continue in their work.We found that even in the highly selected patient material of our clinic that consists of patients with suspected occupational contact dermatitis, as many as 38% of patients with colophonium contact allergy had a history of resin cream use, and in 23%, the resin cream was considered the probable source of sensitization. We conclude that usage of over-the-counter resin creams is a relevant source of colophonium sensitization.
