Observer‐based finite time adaptive fault tolerant control for nonaffine nonlinear systems with actuator faults and disturbances

Abstract: This paper studies the problem of observer-based finite time adaptive fault tolerant control for nonaffine nonlinear systems with actuator faults and disturbances. Based on mean value theorem and convex combination method, a adaptive neural observer with virtual control coefficients is designed to estimate the systems states. Then, by using funnel Lyapunov function and backstepping method, a finite time control scheme is designed in the presence of disturbances and actuator faults. The stability analysis prove… Show more

“…It is worth pointing out that the adaptive observer designed in our article can solve the states estimation problem for non‐affine switched systems. An output feedback controller with the feedback information of not only the current estimated states, but also the past estimated states is established for each subsystems. At the same time, compared with our previous work, 37 the controller designed in this article can further deal with the actuator fault of stuck fault and outage.…”

In Reference 5, a state observer was designed for switched nonlinear systems to approximate the unmeasurable state and compensate for the impact of actuator failures on the system.…”
