Observer‐based control of a photovoltaic DC–DC buck converter: HDS approach

Abstract: In this paper, a new observer-based controller is proposed for a photovoltaic DC-DC buck converter; both photovoltaic (PV) voltage and current regulation are considered. In order to deal with the complex and nonlinear PV mathematical model and adapt it to the control purpose, a hybrid PV current observer model is proposed; three modes are defined and the stability of the observer is discussed using the hybrid dynamical system approach (HDS). The observer-based controller is designed for both voltage and curren… Show more

“…The DC microgrids, in particular, are gaining an increased attention from researchers worldwide [5][6][7]. In this perspective, numerous studies are suggested and discussed in the literature of smart grids and power electronics that deal with the control of such systems [8][9][10].…”

“…In the literature, there have been some developed control methods for the parallel DC-DC converters, for example, terminal sliding mode control and adaptive control method are introduced in Zhao et al [6] and He et al [7], the master-slave control presented in Mazumder et al [8] and some recent intelligent control in other studies [9][10][11][12][13][14], and observation-based control in Ali et al [15] and Du et al [16]. It should be pointed out that the most of these control algorithms are based on the centralized control.…”
