“…Although this species was described in Japan as early as 1939 (Takeuchi, 1939), the number of available reports on its damage to elms in East Asia is limited. Since its first records from Poland and Hungary in 2003, the range of A. leucopoda has expanded to many countries of the continent, including Romania (Bălăcenoiu et al ., 2020; Cardaş et al ., 2011), Russia (Belitskaya et al ., 2018), Bosnia Herzegovina (Dautbašić et al ., 2018), Slovakia (Zúbrik et al ., 2017), Czech Republic (Holuša et al ., 2017), Croatia (Matošević, 2012; Matošević & Pajač Živković, 2013) and Great Britain (Blank et al ., 2010; Vétek et al ., 2016; Forest Research, 2018). The species reproduces by thelytokous parthenogenesis and is able to develop through several generations a year (Blank et al ., 2010; Papp et al ., 2018; Papp, 2018; Vétek et al ., 2020), which facilitate the rapid spread of this pest if the host plant is available and consequently result in mass infestations.…”
