“…Through this lens, discriminatory behaviors can be viewed as dangerous behaviors, and affirmative behaviors as appropriate alternative behaviors. For example, a wide range of discriminatory behaviors negatively affect LGBTQ+ people in the workplace (e.g., Baker & Lucas, 2017; Beauregard et al, 2018; DeSouza et al, 2017; Hollis & McCalla, 2013; James et al, 2016; Pizer et al, 2012), in schools (e.g., Bratsis, 2015; Koehler & Copp, 2020; Moyano & del Mar Sánchez‐Fuentes, 2020), and in healthcare (e.g., Bonvicini, 2017; Dean et al, 2016; James et al, 2016; Kattari et al, 2020). Behavior analysts working in relevant subspecialties may be especially poised to make positive contributions in these areas in terms of reducing discriminatory behaviors and promoting affirmative alternative behaviors.…”
