Observation of enhanced activity of the ^178m2Hf isomeric target after its irradiation by bremsstrahlung radiation

Abstract

Comparing the spectra acquired during two series of irradiations, it was found that the peak intensities of the 178m2Hf isomer are enhanced at the end of each series of irradiations. At the same time, the intensities of the 150Eu and 133Ba peaks, which are present in the isomeric target, keep stable. This means that some additional activity is produced during the irradiations. The half-life of this activity seems to be of the order of several days.
