Observation of a Griffiths-like Phase in the Magnetocaloric CompoundTb5Si2Ge2

It is known [6][7][8][9]14] that the χ in the Griffiths phase is characterized by an exponent lower than unity, i.e., χ -1 (T) α (T-T o ) 1-λ (0<λ<1). Therefore, we have fitted logarithm of χ -1 in the range 6 to 10 K, say for H= 20 Oe data, and the value of λ turns to be 0.8 (see figure 3, inset), in agreement with theoretical predictions [14], whereas in the range 12-20 K, it is close to zero.…”
