Object-oriented real-time database design based on Petri nets

Abstract: This paper introduces extensions in an Object ColouredPetri Net model named G-CPN to model a real-time control and database system. These extensions allow the designer to apply an unified approach to model the control objects and the database objects of a real-time system. Syntactic and semantical constraints are considered for realtime database objects. The semantical constraints can be mapped to Petri net constructions. An example based on a manufacturing cell is shown.
