Object-based visual working memory: an object benefit for equidistant memory items presented within simple contours

Abstract: Previous research has shown that more information can be stored in visual working memory (VWM) when multiple items belong to the same object. Here, in four experiments, we investigated the object effect on memory for spatially equidistant features by manipulating simple, task-irrelevant contours that combined these features.
