Background. In recent years, the incidence of thyroid diseases has increased significantly, which has seriously affected people's work and life. The purpose of this study was to explore the epidemiological characteristics of thyroid diseases and autoantibodies. Method. According to the principle of overall sampling, resident residents ≥18 years and who will not move within 5 years are randomly selected. A total of 2136 eligible individuals were divided into case and control groups according to whether they have thyroid disease. Finally, the impact of potential risk factors on thyroid diseases was evaluated. Results. The overall prevalence of thyroid disease was 58.3%, and there was a significant difference in the prevalence of thyroid disease between women and men (p = 0.004). Except for the age group ≥70 years, with the increase in age, the prevalence gradually increased (p < 0.05). Participants with positive thyroid autoantibodies (TPOAb or TgAb) had a higher prevalence than participants with negative autoantibodies. The positive rate of autoantibodies in women was higher than that in men (p < 0.05). UIC (p = 0.004) and free thyroid hormone (FT4) (p = 0.001) levels of men were higher than those of women, and the TSH level of women was higher than that of men (p = 0.002). The regression analysis showed that women, older age, and family history of thyroid disease were independent risk factors for thyroid disease. Conclusion. The prevalence of thyroid diseases in Hainan was high. Women are more susceptible to thyroid disease than men, and the prevalence increased with age.

ObjectiveTo explore the regulatory mechanism of immune prognostic factors in thyroid cancer.MethodsBased on the TCGA database and GEO database, this study used bioinformatics methods to study the potential regulatory mechanism of thyroid cancer prognosis, analyzed the differentially expressed genes and differential miRNAs between thyroid cancer and normal paracancerous tissues by R software, and constructed lasso risk factors. The immune prognostic factors of thyroid cancer were obtained from the model, and the miRDB website was used to predict the possibility of differential miRNA target binding of the immune prognostic factors and correlation analysis was performed, and finally verified by cell experiments.ResultsThere were 1413 differentially expressed genes between thyroid cancer and normal paracancerous tissues, among which 21 immune-related genes were prognostic factors with significant differences in expression; lasso risk model obtained AKAP12, APOC1, TIMP3, ADAMTS9, ANK2, HTRA3, SYNDIG1 , ADAMTS5 and DACT1 were nine prognostic factors. A total of 58 differential miRNAs were found in thyroid cancer tissues and non-cancerous tissues. The possibility of differential miRNA targeting and binding of immune prognostic factors on the miRDB website and cell experiments was analyzed.ConclusionsThe potential miRNA regulatory mechanism of immune prognostic factors in thyroid cancer has been explored.

Thyroid cancer is the 9th most common cancer in the world. Thus, in the year 2020, 586.000 cases of thyroid cancer were registered worldwide. The incidence rate among women is 10.1 per 100 thousand population, and among men — 3.1 per 100 thousand population. In Ukraine, in 2019, the standardized rate of incidence of thyroid cancer (world standard) was 6.9 per 100.000 population (2.8 among men, 10.5 among women). In the structure of the incidence of malignant neoplasms of the cervical spine, thyroid cancer ranks first place among women aged 18 — 29 (19.9 %), fourth among both men aged 18 — 29 (8.3 %, and women aged 30 — 54 (8.1 %). Over the past 40 years, increased incidence of thyroid cancer (in particular, papillary thyroid cancer) is observed in most countries, which can be explained by various factors, for example, overdiagnosis, a change in the prevalence of modified risk factors. In Ukraine, in the period from 1989 to 2012, the rate of incidence of papillary thyroid cancer among men increased by 115 %, among women — by 137 %, the annual increase in incidence of papillary thyroid cancer for men and women was 5 and 6 %, respectively. Multifocality in papillary thyroid cancer is a characteristic feature that is much more common in pediatric patients than in adults, but the number of studies in children is limited, which is associated with a lower prevalence of the disease in children. The results of investigations on the multifocality predictors and its role in influencing relapse, persistence, and survival in patients with papillary thyroid cancer are conflicting in both adults and pediatric population. Among the risk factors of multifocality, a smaller number of controversies concerns the links of metastasis in the lymphatic nodes, radiation in the anamnesis, childhood age, and for bilaterality — multifocality of the primary lobe and the presence of contralateral benign nodes (in adults). Other factors as predictors of multifocality have controversial significance and deserve attention in further research. The identification of reliable predictors of multifocality, especially with the help of preoperative data analysis, as well as multifocality risk stratification will facilitate the complex decision‑making process for the correct treatment tactics of children and adults with papillary thyroid cancer.
