Literatura Olgi Tokarczuk wpisuje się w projekt zmiany utrwalonego w kulturze sposobu myślenia i mówienia zgodnego z paradygmatem antropocentrycznym, kategorycznie lokującym na szczycie człowieka jako istotę decydującą nie tylko o swoim życiu, ale także o istnieniu i funkcjonowaniu wszystkiego, co znajduje się dookoła, co jest ożywione, czy też nie, ale traktowane jako poza-ludzkie. Tokarczuk w wielu swoich tekstach wykorzystuje wątki myślowe argumentujące tworzenie dyskursu literackiego (ale także publicystycznego), eliminującego struktury językowe obecne w języku narracji antropocentrycznych.
W artykule wykorzystano metodę lektury (profilowaną przez krytyczną analizę dyskursu) (por. Kantner, 2019) tekstów Olgi Tokarczuk, zorientowaną na odkrywanie w nich obecności elementów dyskursu posthumanizmu krytycznego. Wybrane utwory pisarki zostały odczytane w kontekście tego nurtu krytycznego wobec antropocentryzmu, a obejmującego studia nad zwierzętami, roślinami i rzeczami. Struktura artykułu składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej naszkicowano tło prowadzonych rozważań w nawiązaniu do głównych założeń posthumanizmu krytycznego, w drugiej przedstawiono wybrane fragmenty tekstów Olgi Tokarczuk, uobecniające poszukiwane treści i formy włączania się jej narracji m.in. w następujące dyskursy: o wykluczeniu, wykluczenia oraz wykluczonych. W trzeciej części wskazano na głęboki sens terapeutyczny opowieści, podkreślając jej perfomatywną funkcję wzbudzania zaangażowania twórcy i odbiorcy, prowadzącą do zmian w myśleniu, mówieniu i praktykach społecznych.
