Abstract:Tomando como referência a peça A tempestade (1611) de William Shakespeare, o ensaio aborda as relações teóricas estabelecidas entre Nicolas Maquiavel, Thomas Hobbes, Montaigne e Shakespeare. Pode-se dizer que A tempestade encena Maquiavel, imprimindo expressão sensível a conceitos como Principado Novo, Fortuna e Virtú e poder e liberdade.
