Objective: To analyze how social representations of hospital and community care are structured in two groups of nursing students -1 st and 4 th years. Method: Qualitative research oriented by the Theory of Social Representations. We used a questionnaire with Free Association of Words. Data were analyzed in the Software IRaMuTeQ 0.6 alpha 3. Results: We applied the method of Descending Hierarchical Classifi cation and obtained four classes. Class 4 has the largest social representation (30.41%) within the corpus. The two organizational axes are nurse and disease/patient in the central core. On the periphery are the care and help related to the nurse and the treatment and prevention associated with the disease. Conclusion: Social representations focus on disease/patient and on the role of nurses in the treatment, prevention, and care. Health promotion and the social determinants of health are absent from the social representations of students. RESUMO Objetivo: analisar como se estruturam as representações sociais dos cuidados hospitalares e comunitários em dois grupos de estudantes de enfermagem -1º e 4º anos. Métodos: pesquisa qualitativa orientada pela Teoria das Representações Sociais. Utilizou-se um questionário com Associação Livre de Palavras. Os dados foram analisados no Software IRaMuTeQ 0.6 alpha 3. Resultados: aplicou-se o método da Classifi cação Hierárquica Descendente e obtiveram-se 4 classes. A classe 4 tem a maior representação social (30,41%) do corpus. Os dois eixos organizadores são enfermeiro e doença/doente no núcleo central. Na periferia destaca-se o cuidado e ajuda ligados ao enfermeiro e o tratamento e a prevenção associados à doença. Conclusões: as representações sociais centram-se na doença/doente e no papel do enfermeiro no tratamento, prevenção e cuidado. A promoção da saúde e os determinantes sociais da saúde estão ausentes das representações sociais dos estudantes. RESUMO A busca pelo conhecimento das características e da opinião dos estudantes do nível superior fornece importantes subsídios para o planejamento e reorganização do desenvolvimento acadêmico. Com o objetivo de traçar o perfil do aluno do Centro de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), foram distribuídos formulários aos acadêmicos do 2 o período, contendo perguntas referentes aos seus aspectos socioeconômicos e pessoais. O perfil dos estudantes (n = 210) caracterizou-se por um predomínio feminino, com idades entre 19 e 21 anos, provenientes de escolas privadas e classes sociais economicamente mais favorecidas, que receberam grande influência do núcleo familiar na escolha da profissão. A maioria dos estudantes não estava matriculada nos cursos de primeira opção, porém possuía alta expectativa com relação ao curso, considerando-o correspondente às suas expectativas. Após formados pretendem realizar algum curso de pós-graduação e trabalhar no serviço público. No entanto, persiste um problema relativo à escolha da profissão, regulada pela condição socioeconômica e influência familiar. ABSTRACTCarrying out surveys that attempt to understand the characteristics and opinions of students at university level may provide important information for planning and reorganizing academic development. In order to profile the students of the Center for Health Sciences, at the Federal University of Pernambuco, questionnaires were distributed to the academics in the second term of the course, containing questions regarding their socio-economic and personal aspects. The profile of students (n = 210) was characterized by a predominance of females, aged between 19 and 21 years, who had been to private schools, were from the most economically advantaged social classes, and had been greatly influenced by their family regarding career choice. Most students were not enrolled in the courses they had chosen as their first option, but had high expectations about the course, and considered that the course met their expectations. After finishing the course, most students intend to take a postgraduate course and work in public service. One problem that remains concerning the choice of the profession, is that it might be determined by socio-economic status and family influence.

Objective. to analyze the educational practices for the Unified Health System performed by good professors, from the perspective of nursing, medical and odontology students, based on the Shulman's concepts of knowledge of educational ends, purposes, values and their historical and philosophical grounds, at a university in southern Brazil. Methods. A qualitative study with an exploratory and analytical approach in which the participants were graduating students, interviewed with the aid of vignettes, between October of 2011 and January of 2012. Data were analyzed based on thematic analysis. Results. it was observed that good professors educate for the Unified Health System through the promotion of teamwork, interdisciplinary practices, good communication, leadership exercises, and promotion of a student's desire to be an agent of change for the sake of improvement and guaranteeing the right to health. Conclusion. the students attribute to professors the responsibility for the performance of these practices. Despite their consistency with the Brazilian curriculum guidelines, the professors that perform them are seen as a minority.Key words: unified health system; faculty; staff development; students, nursing; students, medical; students, dental.Formación para el Sistema Único de salud: lo que hacen los buenos profesores en la percepción de los estudiantes Objetivo. Analizar las prácticas relacionadas con la formación para el Sistema Único de Salud -SUS-realizadas por los "buenos profesores" según la percepción de los estudiantes de enfermería, medicina y odontología de una universidad del sur de Brasil. Metodología. Estudio cualitativo con abordaje exploratorioanalítico en el cual se entrevistaron 16 estudiantes que finalizaban sus estudios. Los datos fueron analizados temáticamente. Resultados. Se observó que los buenos profesores forman a sus estidiantes para el SUS mediante el fomento del trabajo en equipo, la prácticas interdisciplinares, la buena comunicación, el ejercicio del liderazgo; además, promueven en ellos el deseo de Invest Educ Enferm. 2015;33(3) • 501 ser un agente de cambio en pro del mejoramiento y garantía del derecho a la salud. Conclusión.
