Abstract: Resumo: O artigo investiga a recepção ao golpe de 1964 na Universidade Federal da Bahia. Amparado prioritariamente nas atas de reuniões, enfatiza o posicionamento adotado pelo Reitor e pelo Conselho Universitário de apoio à deposição do Presidente João Goulart. Conclui que o discurso anticomunista encontrou adeptos na cúpula universitária.
