O-002 Presenting Diffusion-Restricted Core Volume, Not Time, Predicts Final Infarct Volume after Thrombectomy in Anterior Circulation Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke
Abstract:Background and purpose In acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients, a diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score (ASPECTS) is correlated with infarct volume and is an independent factor of functional outcomes. Patients with pretreatment DWI-ASPECTS £6 were excluded or underrepresented in the recent randomized endovascular therapy (EVT) trials. Our aim was to assess the impact of recanalization in patients with pretreatment DWI-ASPECTS £6 treated with EVT. Methods We ana… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
