Nutritional recommendations and feeding management of Angora rabbits.

Abstract

This chapter considers the nutrient requirements of Angora wool-producing females as well as their feeding management. The recommended amounts of different nutrients for Angora rabbits are also presented. To avoid wastage and nutritional disorders, a restricted feeding regime adapted to variations in both feed requirements and hair growth should be adopted. Fasting once a week will avoid the formation of a stomach hair ball, which, should it occur, is invariably fatal.
