Nutrition Interventions Associated With Favorable Growth in Infants With Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia

Abstract: Nutrition complications are common in survivors of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). “…Few studies have attempted to evaluate nutritional needs in infants with CDH. Based on calorimetric studies, Haliburton et al found that a mean caloric intake of 125±20 kcal/kg/day was required to achieve a weight gain of 25–35 g/kg/day 14 28. In the study by Terui et al , the caloric needs to achieve positive WGV at 2 months were estimated to be at least 122 kcal/kg/day in severe cases and 115 kcal/kg/day in others 23.…”

In insgesamt 64% konnten subjektiv Behandlungserfolge erzielt werden: durch hochkalorische Spezialnahrung (33%), medikamentöse Behandlung (32%), oder eine Magensonde (20%) 1 2 .…”
