Nursing home case-mix instruments: Validation of the RUG-III system in Italy

Abstract: Our findings provide strong evidence that the RUG-III classification, applied to Italian intermediate- and long-term care institutions, provides a robust estimate of the amount of nursing and rehabilitation resources consumed by older residents.
