Black and Emmet, 13 in a study of nurses working with geriatric patients in pulmonary or cardiac units in two hospitals in the northeastern United States, also found that nurses with the experience of having completed their own AD were more likely to initiate conversation about ADs with patients. Although patient AD completion was not an outcome studied, Duke and Thompson 26 found that nurses who had completed their own AD were more likely to assist a family member in AD completion.…”
