Abstract:Ising models with frustrated next-nearest-neighbor interactions present a rich morphology of modulated phases. These phases, however, assemble and relax slowly, which hinders their computational study. In two dimensions, strong fluctuations further hamper determining their equilibrium phase behavior from theoretical approximations.
