Numerical Study on Unsteady Flow and Mass Transfer Past a Vertical Porous Plate with Variable Viscosity

Abstract: Present study is devoted for an unsteady flow mass and heat transfer past a vertical porous plate with variable viscosity. The effects of chemical reaction, heat source and thermal conductivity on the flow are also investigated. The partial differential equations, which are essentially nonlinear in nature, along with specific boundary conditions have been converted to the dimensionless form by using appropriate coordinate transformation. Explicit finite difference method has been applied to solve the dimension… Show more

“…The variable viscosity can also have some impact on the heat and mass transferred through the porous media. It was noted that the velocity decreased when the viscosity parameter increased [11], which can be attributed to the strong dependence of fluid flow on viscosity. The study of porous media adjacent to the vertical plate has inspired the analysis of different types of fluids.…”
